AnJaq’s humble beginnings began in December 2021. In October 2021, Andre purchased a beaded bracelet from a retail store. Two months later, the bracelet popped. Andre’s attempt to retrieve the fallen beads was unsuccessful, which led Andre to seek Jackie’s assistance. Without hesitation, Jackie began her online shopping spree. She searched for and purchased the supplies (elastic stretchy thread, needles, and replacement beads) needed to repair the bracelet.
It was this pivotal moment that Andre and Jackie realized that they have a knack for creativity and thus, the custom-beaded bracelet small business was born. Jackie and Andre, impressed with the result of the mended bracelet, started buying and building an inventory of various beads (gemstones, tiger eyes, and jade beads).
They began crafting custom bracelets with and without charms, which Jackie would sell to colleagues, family, and friends. With all the positive feedback and repeat sales, Jackie decided to display her custom bracelets on social media. As a result, there was a increase in demand which prompted Jackie to seek a venue where she could show off her creative work.
Finally, in May 2022, Jackie found a public location, Pop-up & Grow Waldorf, located in Waldorf, MD, to reach a wider customer base and increase her beaded bracelet sales. The business name, AnJaq, is derived from a few letters of the owners’ names, Andre and Jackie.
To date, their reputation precedes them. Seventy-five percent of their clientele are repeat customers. Many of their customers have inquired about online purchasing. And here we are…hoping to have a successful and productive online presence…
